TJ is an expert in organizational strategy, assessment, psychometrics, nonprofit management, education leadership, and philanthropy. He earned a PhD in education research, evaluation, and measurement from Brigham Young University and a MS in Ecology from the University of Nebraska. TJ is Associate Commissioner and Chief Academic Officer for the Utah System of Higher Education. Previously, he served as Chief Academic Officer for the State Board of Education in Idaho, Chief Advancement Officer at the Wiki Education Foundation, Program Officer at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Director of Assessment and Accountability at the State Department of Education in Idaho.
